Senator Legarda asks government to be ready for La Niña

QUEZON City, Philippines – Senate Committee on Climate Change Chairperson Loren Legarda asked the government to be prepared for the coming of the “La Niña” phenomenon which will bring strong rains in the coming months. Legarda added that the government should use the funds allocated for disaster preparedness. Also, communities in landslide-prone areas should be relocated. PAGASA warns against La Niña

QUEZON City, Philippines – The Philippines Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned against the coming of La Niña at the ed of the year. The “La Niña” phenomenon is the opposite of “El Niño”, which means that the country will experience more than the normal rainfall as well as more typhoons.
