Eagle News) — Some 30,000 families lost their homes to a huge fire that hit Jolo, Sulu on Tuesday, razing more than 2,600 homes in three barangays, namely Labayong, Busbis and Walled City. Albayalde: Hapilon aide nabbed in Sulu

(Eagle News)– A trusted aide of slain Abu Sayyaf leader Isnilon Hapilon has been arrested by police. Philippine National Police chief Dir. Gen. Oscar D. Albayalde said Hashim Abtaid was nabbed in Jolo, Sulu around 7 p.m. Abtaid was implicated in the kidnapping workers of Golden Harvest plantation in Barangay Tairan, Tam-Awan, Basilan in 2001. He is also facing other cases such as serious illegal detention.
