PNP Chief Ronald Dela Rosa visits Colombia

QUEZON City, Philippines – Philippine National Police Chief Director General Ronald Dela Rosa is currently in Colombia to learn from the said country’s victory in its own war against illegal drugs. According to Dela Rosa, he plans to study and observe the methods used by the Colombia to totally suppress the illegal drug trade. Colombia was notorious during the ’80s for its illegal drug cartels supplying 90% of the world’s cocaine, thereby gaining the tag “narco-state”.  

President Duterte asks for extension in campaign against illegal drugs

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte admitted that he cannot suppress the country’s illegal drug problem within six months. The President asked for another six months to address the problem. Furthermore, the President said that while the government was busy fighting illegal drugs and corruption, incidents of kidnapping and terrorism also came up and had to be separately addressed by the Duterte administration.
