New Kabayan party-list representative takes oath before Arroyo

(Eagle News) — The new representative of the Kabayan party-list took his oath before Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on Wednesday, Oct. 3. Paul Hernandez, the fourth nominee of the party-list in the 2016 polls, replaced Rep. Ciriciaco Calalang, who died recently after suffering a stroke. Apart from Hernandez, Rep. Benhur Salimbangon represents the Kabayan party-list.

Former VP Binay to seek seat in House in 2019 — report

(Eagle News)–Former Vice President Jejomar Binay is running for a seat in the House of Representatives in 2019. Quoting the Binays’ spokesperson Joey Salgado,  a report said Binay will go against Monsour del Rosario for the 1st district congressional seat. Salgado, the report said, also announced Makati Mayor Abby Binay would run for reelection. The elder Binay lost in the 2016 elections.
