The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) announced on Tuesday that applications for the issuance of Certificates of Authority to bear, carry, or transport Firearms and deadly weapons in connection with the 2016 Elections may be accomplished and submitted online. COMELEC rejects early gun ban
The Commission on Election (COMELEC) rejected the call of the group Gunless Society and Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting to implement an earlier total gun ban to stop election-related violence. The COMELEC explained that the said gun ban can only be implemented at the start of the election period on January 10, 2016.
