In preparation of the typhoon’s landfall in Oriental Mindoro, the government implemented a forced evacuation with authorities ordered to physically bring residents who don’t follow said order.
Forced evacuation of the residents living in the permanent danger zone near the Mayon Volcano is still ongoing, with 2,000 families already evacuated.
Though many provinces in Mindanao are still recovering from “Agaton”, many are now preparing for the coming of “Basyang” with Surigao issuing an advisory for forced evacuation in high-risk areas.
