Pardons board: Antonio Sanchez filed for executive clemency this year but the board junked his bid

(Eagle News)–Former Calauan, Laguna Mayor Antonio Sanchez filed for executive clemency sometime this year but was denied. 127 sick and old inmates okayed for executive clemency

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Eagle News) – The Department of Justice confirmed that 127 inmates will be released after receiving executive clemency from President Rodrigo Duterte. Most of these prisoners are either sick or already very old. Palace to release names of inmates to receive executive clemency

According to Justice Secretary Leila De Lima, the Palace may release the list of inmates who will receive executive clemency this week, after the deliberations of the Office of the President. Said pardon will be given to inmates who are suffering from illnesses and those who were abandoned by their families. The Bureau of Corrections earlier said that around 200 inmates will be given pardon.
