4.8-magnitude quake hits Dinagat, second in one month

(Eagle News) — A 4.8-magnitude earthquake struck  Dinagat on Thursday, the second one in a month’s time, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said. Phivolcs said the quake hit four kilometers south of Loreto (Dinagat) at 9:19  a.m. Depth of focus was pegged at 78 kilometers. PHIVOLCS said aftershocks were not expected. There is no reported damage to property. Casualties were also not reported.

Agricultural training institute in Dinagat Islands receives dev’t grant

      A training institute in Surigao del Norte has received an-almost half-a-million-peso development grant for the upgrading of its facilities. The development grant amounting to P497,850 was provided by MASHAV, Israel’s agency for international development cooperation, to the Sogbohan Agri-Training Institute on Dinagat Islands.
