(Eagle News)—-The Commission on Elections suspended work in several of its offices on Wednesday, July 18. In an advisory, the Comelec said work was suspended in the National Capital Region, Regions 4A and 4B, Bataan, Bulacan and Zambales. Voter registration in those areas was also suspended. Monsoon rains have caused flooding in several areas.

Comelec-Davao deputy director Marlon Sabucido Casquejo was appointed to the post based on an appointment letter dated June 18. The letter was signed by the President. (Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte has named Court of Appeals Justice Socorro Inting commissioner of the Commission on Elections (Comelec). Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said Inting, who replaced Commissioner Arthur Lim who retired in February, will serve until February 2, 2025. Inting, who was also a prosecutor, comes from Davao, like the President. Inting’s appointment comes as the Comelec gears up for the May barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.
