Oplan baklas ng COMELEC, susuportahan ng PNP

QUEZON City, Philippines — Sisimulan na ng Commission on Elections (COMELEC) ang pagpapatupad ng “oplan baklas” o pagtatanggal ng mga campaign poster na wala sa designated areas at lumalabag sa iba pang patakaran. Nakahanda naman ang Philippine National Police (PNP) na magbigay ng seguridad sa mga tauhan ng COMELEC o sa anumang ahensya na naatasan ng Comelec na magpatupad ng oplan baklas. (Eagle News Service)

“Oplan Baklas” starts on February 9

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority will start “Oplan Baklas” on Tuesday, February 9. MMDA will remove campaign materials from areas not designated by the Commission on Elections like light posts, trees and traffic signals to ensure an eco-friendly election. COMELEC first division junks all disqualification cases VS Duterte

THE Commission on Elections first division unanimously denied the four disqualification cases filed against presidential candidates Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte for lack of merit. The disqualification cases were separately filed by broadcasters Ruben Castor, Rizalito David, Ely Pamatong and John Paulo Delas Nieves. All four petitions principally questioned validity of Duterte’s substitution for Martin Diño, claiming that the latter’s certificate of candidacy (COC) for president was invalid.
