President Duterte to Navy: Transform BRP Ang Pangulo into hospital for COVID-19 patients

(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte has ordered the Philippine Navy to transform the presidential yacht into a hospital for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients. “[S]abi ko sa Navy, gawaing ospital agad, pati magtulong sila ng iba,” he said of the BRP Ang Pangulo. According to the President, the inside of the yacht resembles a hotel. “Pero hindi ko sinakyan ‘yan, kailan man ‘yung yate ng presidente, hindi ako bagay diyan, pang-bangka lang ako,” he added.

QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — President-elect Rodrigo Duterte said he will be selling the presidential yacht BRP Ang Pangulo. The proceeds from the sale will fund veterans, improvement of hospital facilities, and doctors’ salaries so they won’t need to go abroad for higher paying jobs.
