(Eagle News) — The Association of Southeast Asian Nations Economic Community (AEC) has a new deputy secretary general. Dr. Aladdin Rillo of the Philippines assumed the post previously held by DSG Lim Hong Him of Brunei Darassalam on Monday. His term will end in 2021. Rillo previously worked as a senior economist at the Asian Development Bank Institute in Tokyo, Japan where he administered capacity-building training on development issues, among others. https://youtu.be/OVIvZ2xwAF4
Many people still lack awareness about the ASEAN organization itself and its purposes. In fact there has been a report that citizens of ASEAN member nations generally don’t know much about or are uninterested in the regional grouping even as the 2015 ASEAN integration nears.
