(Eagle News)–The Commission on Appointments has approved the ad interim appointment of General Noel Clement as Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff. Clement will serve as head of the AFP until January 2020. Before he became chief of staff, Clement was head of the military’s Central Visayas Command. The CA also approved the promotion of Navy Vice Admiral Allan Ferdinand Cusi, who is currently the superintendent of the Philippine Military Academy. Meanne Corvera

Benjamin Madrigal is the next Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines Madrigal, the commander of Eastern Mindanao Command based in Davao City, will assume the post on December 12. He will replace Gen. Carlito Galvez, Jr., who is slated to reach the mandatory age of retirement.
