Sunset in Colorado Springs

(Eagle News) – This photo taken at sunset by Robert Alporque shows the serene beauty of Colorado Springs.

With an elevation of 6,035 feet, Colorado Springs is a city in Colorado that stands over a mile above sea level.

It is situated near the base of one of the most famous American mountains, the glacier-carved Pikes Peak which rises over 8,000 feet above the city on the eastern edge of Southern Rocky Mountains.

The city is home to the United States Air Force Academy and the United States Olympic Training Center, as well as the 24 national governing bodies of sport, the United States Olympic Committee.
