Indonesia cyclone death toll more than doubles to 41

  JAKARTA, Indonesia (AFP) — A tropical cyclone that pounded Indonesia’s main island of Java has killed 41 people, the country’s disaster agency said Wednesday, more than double the initial toll, with tens of thousands displaced by severe flooding and landslides. Indonesia seizes Chinese fishing ship, arrests 21 crew members of various nationalities

Indonesia, through its maritime affairs and fisheries ministry, has seized a Chinese fishing ship which was allegedly found fishing illegally over Indonesia’s eastern waters. The local authorities also seized 35 tons of fish, including tiger sharks, a protected species.  They also arrested the 21 crew members of the ship Fu Yuan Yu 831.
