Yellow alert in effect over Luzon grid today, June 3

(Eagle News)–A yellow alert is in effect over the Luzon grid on Monday, June 3. The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines said the alert, which means reserves do not meet the required minimum levels, is in effect from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Available capacity is at 11820 megawatts, while peak demand was at 10867 megawatts. Details on the cause of the alert will be announced later today.

PNP: Advincula now under police protective custody

3.0-magnitude quake hits Davao Oriental

(Eagle News)–A 3.0-magnitude earthquake struck Davao Oriental early Monday, June 3. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin and an aftershock of the 6.2-magnitude offshore quake in the province on May 31,hit 65 kilometers southeast of General Generoso at 4:45 a.m. The depth of focus was 55 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
