DFA: 19 Filipino sailors held in Mexico allegedly over illegal drugs

(Eagle News)–Nineteen Filipino seafarers are being held in Mexico allegedly over illegal drugs, the Department of Foreign Affairs said on Tuesday, July 30. In a statement, the DFA said the 19 were part of the 22 crewmen of the Cypriot-flagged vessel UBC Savannah that was detained  on July 27. 3.4-magnitude quake hits Occidental Mindoro

(Eagle News)–A 3.4-magnitude earthquake struck Occidental Mindoro on Tuesday, July 30. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 24 kilometers southeast of Sablayan at 9:42 a.m. Depth of focus was 15 kilometers. An instrumental intensity I was felt in Calapan City in Oriental Mindoro. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
