(Eagle News)–A 3.9-magnitude earthquake struck Lanao del Sur on Thursday, Aug. 22. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 3 kilometers northwest of Wao at 12:42 p.m. Depth of focus of the quake was one kilometer. An intensity III was felt in Kalilangan, Bukidnon, while an instrumental intensity I was experienced in Cagayan de Oro City. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
