DILG to seek help of Dutch gov’t for extradition of Sison

(Eagle News)–The Department of the Interior and Local Government will ask the the Dutch government for help in the extradition of Communist Party of the Philippines founding chair Jose Maria Sison. 3.4-magnitude quake hits N. Vizcaya

(Eagle News)–A 3.4-magnitude earthquake struck Nueva Vizcaya on Thursday, Sept. 12. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said  the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 7 kilometers northwest of Ambaguio at 8:01 a.m Depth of focus was 1 kilometer. The following intensities were reported: Intensity IV – Ambaguio, Nueva Vizcaya Intensity III – Atok & Bokod, Benguet; Tinoc, Ifugao Intensity II – Baguio City No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

Prison guard stabbed by inmate in Bilibid

(Eagle News)–A prison guard inside the New Bilibid Prison was hurt after he was stabbed by an inmate on Thursday, Sept. 12. Justice Undersecretary Markk Perete said Duty Officer Edgardo Ferrer sustained a  “superficial stab wound on his lower abdominal” after he was attacked by the  inmate who was suffering from schizophrenia at 8:40 a.m. The inmate was not identified. Perete said Ferrer has been given “commensurate medical care.”

NASSAU, Bahamas (AFP) — About 2,500 people are unaccounted for in the Bahamas following Hurricane Dorian, the archipelago’s National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said Wednesday.
