Immigration bureau reports 79-percent drop in international passenger arrivals this year

32 more police personnel recover from COVID-19

(Eagle News) — Thirty-two more police personnel have recovered from COVID-19. The Philippine National Police said with the additional recoveries, the total PNP COVID-19 tally rose to 8561. Seventy-five additional COVID-19 cases, however, pushed the PNP total to 8935. Of these, 347 were active. No additional deaths were reported, which means the PNP COVID-19 death toll remains at 27. 4.4-magnitude quake hits Davao Occidental

(Eagle News) — A 4.4-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Occidental on Monday, December 28. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 12:46 p.m., had its epicenter 193 kilometers southeast of Sarangani. It was the second earthquake in the area during the day. Earlier, a 4.9-magnitude earthquake hit the province. The quake had a depth of 12 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.
