Celebrity designers and models collaborate with the Philippine Red Cross for a fundraiser fashion show, “Tintura de Malabon: A Revival,” on Sept. 22 at 6 p.m. to be held at the Solaire Grand Ballroom in Paranaque City.

The fund-raiser was conceptualized to provide relief to families in Malabon affected by typhoons and to assist indigent patients in need of blood products.

The fashion show for a cause is spearheaded by PRC-Malabon City Chapter Chairman Arturo Supangan II in partnership with the Designers Circle Philippines (DCP).

Designs by well-known DCP members Fanny Serrano, Rene Salud, Johnny Abad, Gener Gozum will form part of the collection to be showcased during the fashion event.

PRC Chairman, Senator Richard Gordon, also called on aspiring models and volunteers to unite as one and give life-saving assistance to the most vulnerable.

“For 71 years, PRC has been at the forefront of disasters and emergencies, giving aid to the most needy without discrimination. By joining this fashion show for humanity, you can help us serve more Filipinos and help them get back on their feet,” he said.

Rene Salud, a staunch supporter of the Philippine Red Cross, also said that “this event is not just a showcase of our own designs, but a noble project intended for the indigent Filipino people who need blood.”

PRC-Malabon City Chapter Chairman Arturo Supangan said the fund-raising event is a first for PRC Malabon Chapter to help the most vulnerable, including those who need blood but cannot afford it.

“With this amount, hopefully we can provide free blood for the less fortunate,” Supangan said during a media conference held at the Manila Yacht Club.

Proceeds of the show will also support the chapter’s first blood bank which started operations January this year, as well as its disaster management activities.

The chapter is targeting to raise P2 to P3 million from the said event.
