The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 142 kilometers southwest of Kiamba at 1:11 p.m. Depth of focus of the quake was 498 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 6 kilometers southeast of Naval at 5:21 a.m. Depth of focus was six kilometers. An Intensity III was recorded in Naval, Kawayan, Biliran and Almeria; while an instrumental intensity I was felt in Bogo City in Cebu and in Ormoc. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services said light to moderate to at times heavy rains are being experienced in Camarines Sur, Albay, Masbate, Catanduanes, Oriental Mindoro and Romblon. He said the conditions may continue for 1 to 3 hours. “All are advised to take precautionary measures against possible floods in low lying areas, flashfloods and landslides in mountainous areas,” PAGASA said.
