PCSO to appeal President Duterte’s order terminating all forms of gambling

(Eagle News)–The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office will appeal President Rodrigo Duterte’s order to stop all forms of gambling activities under its mandate. This is according to PCSO general manager Royina M. Garma, who issued a statement a day after the President’s directive. At least eight people killed in Batanes quakes

(Eagle News)–At least eight people were killed and several injured after earthquakes struck Batanes early Saturday, July 27. JUST IN: 3.8-magnitude quake hits Batanes

(Eagle News)–A 3.8-magnitude earthquake struck Batanes on Saturday, July 27. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 35 kilometers southeast of Itbayat at 11:19 a.m. It was an aftershock of the 5.9-magnitude earthquake that hit the area earlier in the day. An instrumental intensity II was felt in Basco. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.  

Thunderstorm advisory hoisted over M. Manila, nearby areas

(Eagle News)–A thunderstorm advisory has been hoisted over Metro Manila and nearby areas. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration saido moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are expected over Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Quezon within the next 2 hours. PAGASA said the conditions are being experienced in Quezon City. “All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides,”PAGASA said.
