“Yolanda” victims still experience housing shortage

In the ongoing investigation of the Senate Housing and Resettlement led by Senator JV Ejercito, officials of the National Housing Authority admitted that 50% of those who were adversely affected by the super-typhoon “Yolanda” remains in temporary shelters as the housing shortage in the affected areas remain unresolved. Several fishermen missing as “Kabayan” leaves

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), 26 fishermen are still missing 2 days after “Kabayan” left the Philippine area of responsibility. The NDRRMC records 4, 500 families were affected in the storm’s rampage in six provinces in Luzon with 1, 300 families staying in evacuation centers.
