The Senate approved the Salary Standardization Law or the SSL-4 that will augment the compensation given to government employees. Nineteen senators approved said law while none voted against. The Senate approved the law that expands the maternity leave provided to female employees to 100 days. Senator Pia Cayetano, chairman of the Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality, the current maternity leave is not at par with international standards which is 98 days. To monitor commercial flights in the West Philippine Sea, the government plans to install a Php 50 million satellite-based tracking system in the Pag-asa Island.
