Inflation registers at 3.2 percent in May

(Eagle News)—Inflation picked up at 3.2 percent in May, faster than last month’s 3 percent but slower than last year’s 4.6 percent, data from the Philippine Statistics Authority showed. 3.1-magnitude quake hits Davao Occidental

(Eagle News)–A 3.1-magnitude earthquake struck Davao Occidental on Wednesday, June 5. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 60 kilometers southeast of Don Marcelino at 6:14 a.m. Depth of focus was 30 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

There are several who are leaving the Senate: Gringo Honasan, Antonio Trillanes IV, Francis Escudero, Bam Aquino, JV Ejercito and Loren Legarda. Of these, two have been elected to other government positions: Escudero as governor of Sorsogon, and Legarda as Antique representative. Five made their valedictory speeches on Tuesday.
