Rainfall advisory hoisted over S. Luzon
(Eagle News)–A rainfall advisory has been hoisted over Southern Luzon. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services said light to moderate to at times heavy rains are being experienced in Camarines Sur, Albay, Masbate, Catanduanes, Oriental Mindoro and Romblon. He said the conditions may continue for 1 to 3 hours. “All are advised to take precautionary measures against possible floods in low lying areas, flashfloods and landslides in mountainous areas,” PAGASA said.

4.4-magnitude quake hits N. Samar
(Eagle News)–A 4.4-magnitude earthquake struck Northern Samar on Sunday, Aug. 4. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 25 kilometers northwest of Pambujan at 7:17 a.m. Depth of focus was 16 kilometers. An intensity II was felt in Palapag, Northern Samar and Irosin in Sorsogon. An instrumental intensity I was felt in Borongan City. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
