Suspected members of the Abu Sayyaf Group threatened that they will kill the Samal kidnapping victims if their demand of ransom payment worth Php 4 billion. Two of the foreigners asked the Canadian government to pay the ransom. Said victims were kidnapped last September in a resort in Samal Island, Davao.
