Football: Rooney banned from driving after drink-drive guilty plea

STOCKPORT, United Kingdom (AFP) — Former England captain Wayne Rooney was on Monday banned from driving for two years and ordered to perform 100 hours of unpaid work after pleading guilty to drink driving. Rooney was charged after being stopped by police while driving a black Volkswagen Beetle at 2:00 am on September 1. The car belonged to a woman he had met in a bar.
