Duterte performance in this year’s 3rd quarter nets “good” satisfaction rating

(Eagle News) — More than half of Filipinos are satisfied with President Rodrigo Duterte’s performance this third quarter of 2017, according to a Social Weather Stations survey. The survey, conducted from September 23-27, 2017, found 67% of adult Filipinos satisfied, 14% undecided, and 19% dissatisfied. Businessman Washington Sycip passes away at 96

(Eagle News) — Businessman Washington Sycip passed away on Saturday night. Former Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima made the announcement on his Twitter account. According to Purisima, Sycip passed away “enroute to New York.” He was 96 years old. SyCip, a philanthropist, founded SyCip, Gorres, Velayo & Co, an accounting, tax and auditing firm, in 1946. He also founded the Asian Institute of Management. The accountant turned 96 last June 30.
