Applications for 2015 JET Programme – Coordinator for International Relations (CIR) Position Now Open

The Embassy of Japan is now accepting applications from the Philippines for one Coordinator for International Relations (CIR) position in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan under the 2015 Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme.

 

Responsibilities

On top of general job duties as Coordinator for International Relations (CIR) stated in the JET Programme Guidelines, the selected candidate for this position is expected to provide support and serve as point of contact for key representatives of the prefecture’s growing Filipino population, facilitate partnership and coordination arrangements between the prefectural government and the Filipino community in the area by performing public relations functions, and identify ways to more effectively address common concerns of Filipino residents in the region by conducting extensive research and data analyses on their current living conditions.

Required Skills

Interested Filipino citizens who meet the following requirements are encouraged to apply:

  • College graduate
  • Highly proficient in Japanese (N1 Level)
  • Fluent in English and Filipino
  • Preferably able to communicate in Visayan dialect

JET Programme

The Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme was launched in 1987 to help deepen mutual understanding between the people of Japan and those of other countries through foreign language exchange and cultural immersion at the local level. Around 4,700 participants from over 40 different countries have already been admitted to the programme since it started.
