Apple pickers took advantage of the last weekend before the schoolyear began in Maryland in August 2016.  Maryland, USA governor Larry Hogan announced on August 30 that Maryland public schools cannot open until after Labor Day starting next year, 2017.  Labor Day in the US is a public holiday celebrated in the first Monday of September.
