2015 Japanese Government Scholarship: Teacher Training and Japanese Studies Categories Open for Applications

The Japan Information and Culture Center (JICC), of the Embassy of Japan, is now accepting applications for the Teacher Training and Japanese Studies programs.


All Filipino citizens who meet the qualifications below are eligible to apply:


Category Requirements Age Years of Study Fields of Study
Teacher Training •Teacher in Elementary/Secondary Level, or an academic staff at a teacher training institution• 5 years teaching experience

• Good academic standing

Under 35

years old

1.5 Education management, methods of education, special subjects, observation study, etc.
Japanese Studies • Must be a Japanese Studies Major• Good knowledge of the Japanese Language

• Good academic standing

18 to 29 years old 1 Japanese language, life & culture, etc.

The deadline for submission of applications is on Monday, February 23, 2015, at the JICC Library. ONLY hard copies, preferably printed on A4 size paper, and mailed through courier or hand-delivered to the Embassy, will be accepted.

The application process consists of documentary screening, written exams, and an interview.


Free scholarship consultations are offered at the JICC Library every Friday from 9 AM to 12 PM, and 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM. Interested individuals and walk-in visitors are welcome, and need only present a valid ID to secure an entry badge to the Embassy premises.
