Some 200 homes destroyed in Cebu City fire; INC house of worship opens doors to fire victims

(Eagle News) – A huge blaze that struck Barangay Dujo Fatima in Cebu City at Tuesday dawn, December 25, destroyed some 200 houses and killed a 12-year old boy.

Investigators identified the fatality as Cyrus John Perras from Barangay Duljo Fatima. His remains were found inside an internet café shop

The fire was first reported at 3:47 a.m., and reached Task Force Alpha at 4:11 a.m., which means firefighters from neighboring local governments were mobilized to help put out the fire.

The Freeman, a Cebu City newspaper, reported that at least 158 families or 676 individuals were affected by the Duljo Fatima fire in Cebu City as of 9:15 a.m.

The Freeman, in a Facebook post, also reported that an Iglesia Ni Cristo house of worship opened its doors to affected residents of the Duljo Fatima fire in Cebu City.

The INC is known to help people affected by calamities and disasters.
