President Rodrigo Duterte holds his Talk to the People on Sept 10, 2021, aired the following day, Sept 11, where several Cabinet members discussed developments in their various departments including updates on Typhoon Kiko, COVID-19 response, education, among others.
During his public address, he again answered accusations of some senators regarding the government’s COVID-19 response. He also hit Senators Franklin Drilon and Richard Gordon — Drilon for his alleged links to Janet Lim Napoles and to some personalities he had previously linked to illegal drugs, and Gordon for his failure to submit an annual report to his office of how the Philippine Red Cross disbursed government funds given to the organization.
Duterte also pressed a government audit on the Philippine Red Cross chaired by Senator Richard Gordon who is spearheading the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearings investigating the Department of Health and how it had utilized COVID-19 funds.
