Watch: 9th survivor rescued in collapsed building in Porac, Pampanga; 20 persons still trapped in rubble




 

(Eagle News) — Search and retrieval teams in Porac, Pampanga rescued the ninth survivor from a collapsed four-storey building which housed a grocery store, Chuzon Supermarket, on Tuesday, April 23, a day after the 6.1 magnitude quake that hit Luzon.

The search teams continued to scour the area for signs of life hoping to rescue the more or less 20 persons still trapped in the rubble.

So far, five fatalities were recovered from the collapsed building.

Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda has recommended placing the entire province in a state of calamity.

The Porac town mayor Condralito dela Cruz has already declared a state of calamity in the municipality following reports of extensive damage and more casualties in other barangays.
