QUEZON City, Philippines (September 16) – There are many aspiring filmmakers out there, ready to sacrifice their time and money to capture the perfect moment and re-create the tantamount scene. “Walang Take Two” follows the life of one such aspiring filmmaker.

“Walang Take Two” is about a young man, Hapi, who decided that he wants to be a filmmaker and create an indie film. Hapi falls for Cherry who works in a cybercafe and decided to pretend that he is a rich filmmaker to impress her. He even promised that he will give him the main role in his film. And here lies the rub, Hapi is sorely beset by lack of funding. His various attempts to score such funding – all of which hilariously backfires, is the main storyline of “Walang Take Two”.
As expected about a film about film-making, “Walang Take Two” is cinematographically impressive, calling the attention of the viewers with its amazing shots and angles.
It also follows that sure-fire formula of Filipino movies that have elements of all genres, from comedy to drama and even a little bit of action. But what is most important is the underlying moral tone of the movie, with life lessons delivered subtly but effectively.
It is a surprise that a majority of the cast who made up “Walang Take Two” have no prior experience in acting. And this may be the reason why their sincerity resounds in the delivery of lines as well as in the film in general.
Some 2,400 people packed into the Aliw Theater in Pasay City last September 13 for the EBC Film Forum where the film, “Walang Take Two” was shown, followed by short talks by Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) chair Atty. Eugenio Villareal, Filipino actor and director Leo Martinez who is also the current chair of the Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP), and MTRCB member actress Gladys Reyes Sommereux.
“Walang Take Two” is a project of INCinema, which in turn is a project of the Iglesia Ni Cristo that aims to develop the talents of Church members who have an interest in any aspect of film-making.
“Walang Take Two” is definitely a must-see.
