UPDATED: At least four killed in QC fire

(Eagle News)–At least four people were killed in a fire that hit a residential area in Quezon City on Sunday, July 28.

Only two fatalities have so far been identified by authorities in the blaze that hit a condominium building at 2:26 a.m. in Barangay Pasong Tamo.

They were Emma Canlas, 80; and Genevieve Macalso, 46;

Authorities have yet to identify the cause of the blaze but said it was possible an unattended candle was behind it.

The fire was put out at 3:22 a.m.

Update as of 2 p.m.

Three fatalities have so far been identified: Emma Canlas, 80; Genevieve Macalso, 46; and Sherna Canlas, 38.

Police investigators and Bureau of Fire Protection investigators are also looking into the possibility the fire was not an accident.

The land where the building stands has been in dispute, with several companies  claiming rights from the local government of Quezon City.
