Tropical cyclone warning signal no. 1 up over Northern Isabela, Cagayan, Batanes

(Eagle News) – Tropical cyclone warning signal number one is hoisted over Northern Isabela, Cagayan and Batanes as tropical depression Falcon moved nearer the country with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of up to 65 kph.

As of 4 a.m., today, Tuesday, July 16, Falcon was estimated at 690 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, according to the latest weather bulletin released by PAGASA at 5 a.m.

It is moving west at 30 kilometers per hour, and is expected to be 305 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City by tomorrow morning, Wednesday.

In Northern Isabela, Cagayan and Batanes under cyclone warning signal number 1, winds of 30 to 60 kph may be expected in at least 36 hours, while intermittent rains may be expected within the same period.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, July 17, moderate to heavy rains will be experienced over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Zambales, Bataan and Mindoro Provinces due to the combined effects of “FALCON” and the enhanced Southwest Monsoon.

Meanwhile, light to moderate with occasional heavy monsoon rains will prevail over Metro Manila, CALABARZON, Western Visayas, and the rest of Central Luzon and MIMAROPA, according to the weather bureau.
