Three additional train coaches to hit MRT-3 tracks starting today, Oct. 15

(Eagle News)–Three additional train coaches will hit the Metro Rail Transit-3 tracks starting today, Oct. 15, the MRT-3 said.

In a statement, the MRT-3 said the three coaches will be deployed during evening off-peak hours, from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., after Japanese maintenance provider Sumitomo Corporation-Mitsubishi Heavy Industries – TES Philippines on Monday, Oct. 14, signed a consent for the limited deployment of one Dalian train set.

Under the consent, the  train set will be deployed for an initial trial period lasting until November, when the maintenance provider begins its rail replacement work.

The MRT-3 said three Dalian trains (9 train coaches) sets have already completed the necessary commissioning and validation tests, including the 150-hour run.

Each Dalian train set can carry 1,050 passengers per trip.
