Things to do during Earth Hour

QUEZON City, Philippines (March 15) – Better mark your calendar, guys. Because on March 19, the whole world will participate in the annual Earth Hour activity. For those who don’t know what Earth Hour is, it is the time when we turn off our lights for an hour as a way to raise awareness regarding climate change.  Usually, during Earth Hour, we tend to just stay where we are, waiting for the hour to pass so that we can go back to our lives.

But that hour of darkness need not be spent in inactivity, here are some fun things that you can do during Earth hour, courtesy of our friends from inhabitat.com:

1.Have a candle-lit dinner with your special someone, friends or family.

It’s a nice feeling to have this kind of bonding with your partner, friends and family for it will surely strengthen your relationship with them. It’s a chance for you build up your bonding by talking about the things you want to talk about and sharing your stories with your loved ones.  Every second counts so appreciate every moment you spend with them.

2. Have a nighttime city walk

Check out if any of your neighbors are not participating.

3. Go for a nighttime bike ride

Cycling is not a trend, its part of a sustainable lifestyle. Everyday more people decide to leave their car at home and start cycling. And once you’ve started cycling, you can’t stop. So why not go for a ride during the hour?

4. Try candle-lit exercise

Use this time to pursue a more sustainable and healthy lifestyle through exercise. You can do this with your friends and family.

 5. Read a bed time story

Light a candle to create a cozy atmosphere, and transform your favorite bedtime story into a fantastic journey of the imagination.

6. Have an unplugged jam session at home

Invite your friends over and unplug while you enjoy some in-house music.
