(Eagle News)–An orange rainfall warning has been hoisted over Zambales, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said on Monday, Aug. 20. PAGASA said a yellow rainfall warning, on the other hand, is up over Bataan. Light to moderate rains with occasional heavy rains are currently affecting Metro Manila, Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac , Nueva Ecija, Laguna, Cavite and Batangas. The state weather bureau said these may persist for two to three hours.

The first storm for 2015 has finally entered the Philippine area of responsibility according to the PAGASA.
PAGASA spotted a low-pressure area east of Surigao City but said that it has a low chance of becoming a storm.
Expect fair weather today and for the rest of the week due to the ridge of high pressure currently affecting the larger part of the country.
The low pressure area continues to gather strength, according to the PAGASA, gaining higher possibility of developing into a storm, earning the designation “Kanor”.
According to the PAGASA, a monsoon break will bring hot and humid weather all over the country.
The country is starting to experience the effects of the southwest monsoon or “habagat”, particularly in the western part of the Philippines.
As the easterlies continue to affect the country’s weather system, expect humid weather today.
According to the PAGASA, the easterlies will affect the country, resulting in fair and humid weather. As we enter the month of May, rain showers during the afternoon will become more frequent.
The low pressure area being monitored by PAGASA dissipated in northern Samar. Due to the effect of the easterlies, the whole country, including Metro Manila will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with scattered rain showers in the afternoon.
