PHIVOLCS: 11 volcanic quakes monitored in Kanlaon in last 24 hours

(Eagle News) — Eleven volcanic earthquakes were monitored in Kanlaon in the last 24 hours. According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, also monitored were 196 tons/day of sulfur dioxide flux as of Aufust 30. A moderate steam plume was also monitored, reaching 200 meters high. PHIVOLCS reminded the public that entry into the 4-kilometer Permanent Danger Zone remains banned. Cloudy skies, rains expected in parts of PHL due to northeast monsoon, easterlies

(Eagle News)– Cloudy skies and rains are expected in parts of the country today, Jan. 24, due to the northeast monsoon affecting Luzon and the easterlies. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Eastern Visayas will  have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the easterlies.
