China hails new US ambassador’s ‘positive role’

BEIJING, China (AFP) – China welcomed on Tuesday the United States Senate’s confirmation of Iowa Governor Terry Branstad as US ambassador to Beijing, praising his “positive role” in Sino-US relations.
