Senate gets “good” satisfaction rating in SWS June survey; Cabinet, SC, House receive “moderate” marks

(Eagle News)—-The Senate was the only  government institution that had a “good” net satisfaction rating in a  survey done by the Social Weather Stations in June. According to the SWS, the +41 rating it received translates to 57 percent of people satisfied with its performance and to 17 percent  dissatisfied with it. Bersamin accepts nomination for Chief Justice post

(Eagle News)– Supreme Court Associate Justice Lucas Bersamin has accepted his nomination as Chief Justice. Justice Menardo Guevarra confirmed this development on Wednesday, July 25. Guevarra is a member of the Judicial and Bar Council, which is tasked to screen the nominees. (Eagle News) — The Supreme Court has junked the petitions filed by Richard Cambe and Janet Lim Napoles challenging a Sandiganbayan decision that denied them bail. Work in all courts in M. Manila suspended for Wednesday, July 18

(Eagle News)—The Supreme Court  suspended work in all courts in Metro Manila on Wednesday, July 18. Acting Chief Justice Antonio  said the suspension, which applies to the SC, Court of Tax Appeals, Sandiganbayan,  and Court of Appeals, was in view of the heavy rains and “persistent threats of flooding.” Monsoon rains caused flooding in several areas overnight.
