A former Commission on Election lawyer is asking the Office of Ombudsman to investigate the allegedly anomalous deal between the COMELEC and Smartmatic.
The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) warned that the election may be postponed by one month due to the disqualification of Smartmatic for the provision of automated voting systems.
With the renewal of contract between the Commission on Election with Smartmatic, said company readies itself with the numerous criticisms, with its president saying that their contract with the COMELEC is legal and promises to improve their services in the next election.
