Senate to investigate Customs Commissioner’s resignation

MANILA, Philippines, April 24 (Eagle News) — Senate wants to look into the reason why the Commissioner of the Bureau of Customs, John Sevilla, who resigned from his position due to political pressure. Senate to inspect Makati relocation site in Laguna

MANILA, Philippines, April 17 (Eagle News) — The Senate will conduct an ocular inspection on the controversial Makati relocation site in Calawan, Laguna which amounted to 1.2 billion pesos during the term of former Makati Mayor and now Vice-President Jejomar “Jojo” Binay Sr. Residents in the relocation site complained about lack of electricity and the use of substandard materials in the housing units. Senate asks Iqbal to reveal true identity

As the Senate Committee on Local Government continues with its investigation regarding the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL), the Senate asked Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) chief negotiator Mohagher Iqbal to reveal his true identity with the latter refusing, saying that as a member of rebel group, he has a right to use an alias for his protection.
