Senate president Franklin Drilon has rejected the proposed creation of an independent commission to investigate the pork barrel anomaly, saying that the power to investigate anti-graft cases belong to the Ombudsman.

Senate To Ratify FOI Bill Before Congress Break
Senate President Franklin Drilon guarantees that the Senate will ratify the Freedom of Information Bill before the congressional break on March 15. He added that the debate has ended and all amendments have been included before the submission of the bill to the bicameral committee.
Senate Has No Charter Change Plan
The Senate will not initiate its own move for charter change. Senate President Franklin Drilon said that the body will wait for the House of Representatives to pass the its own charter change proposal so that the Senate can make sure that the amendments are limited to economic provisions.
