Suspected members of the Abu Sayyaf Group threatened that they will kill the Samal kidnapping victims if their demand of ransom payment worth Php 4 billion. Two of the foreigners asked the Canadian government to pay the ransom. Said victims were kidnapped last September in a resort in Samal Island, Davao. The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) is now investigating the Youtube video of the kidnap victims in Samal. Said investigation is being conducted to confirm if said video was taken in Sulu as well as the identity of the abductors.
