(Eagle News) — Government work will resume on Wednesday, Oct. 18. According to Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella, contrary to a social media post circulating online, classes in public and private schools nationwide will also resume on that day. The declaration made by the Office of the Executive Secretary, he said, applies to all levels. “For the information and guidance of all concerned,” he said.
The Department of Education (DepEd) continues to facilitate the immediate resumption of classes in areas affected by Typhoon Lando (international name Koppu). DepEd field offices sent engineers and staff to expedite rapid assessment and provisions of appropriate interventions. In addition to this, DepEd is closely monitoring the schools which are still being used as evacuation centers to ensure the orderly resumption of classes.
